Nicola Brown is Head of Service at the Public Defence Solicitors’ Office. Prior to joining the organisation in 2007, she served as a Procurator Fiscal Depute and later as Legal Manager at the District Court (now the Justice of the Peace Court). Following her appointment to the PDSO, Nicola was contracted by the Judicial Studies Committee to contribute to a national Justice of the Peace training programme. She has since delivered legal training to solicitors and administrative staff at both local and national level. In her current role, Nicola is accountable for leading a large team of solicitors and administrative staff across eight offices. She also has the privilege of participating in focus groups addressing the practical implementation of summary justice reform.
