Jane McNicol is a Legal Director of Thorntons who has more than 20 years’ experience litigating in the Court of Session, Sheriff Courts and Tribunals throughout Scotland acting for businesses and individuals. She has an enviable breadth of experience, allowing her to provide authoritative and practical advice, which her clients appreciate. Jane handles all types of Civil Litigation, including Debt Recovery, Commercial Disputes, Insolvency, advising Landlords on the Recovery of Property, and representing clients at Fitness to Practise and Professional Conduct hearings. Jane is regularly appointed by courts to safeguard the interests of vulnerable adults, and regularly advises and represents clients seeking Guardianship Orders under the Adults with Incapacity legislation. She is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in Incapacity and Mental Disability Law. Jane has a keen interest in the welfare of others and is a Director and Trustee of Perthshire Women's Aid. She also tutors in Civil Advocacy on the Diploma in Legal Practice course at the University of Dundee.
